For me packing to travel is the first part of the holiday and one that I relish. As I compile my list of events and ensembles, the excitement rises. Here is my look for “On the Plane” – simple, chic and comfortable. White jeans, packable hat, of course,, at least 2 pairs of shades, small gold hoops, all good. Top it off with a comfy jersey shirt, a stretchable Veronica Beard Blazer, a cozy pashmina shawl, and a versatile down vest. check, check & check. The Stuart Weitzman Fisherman sandals are a great lift. To see other travel shoes and tips on keeping your kicks comfortable, see Rule of Three Shoes.
The bag, THE BAG, is perfection. It is an investment for sure but how many times do you find a iconic, ideal tote for beach, plane, pool, city, country, wherever. I think I have just talked myself into it. Don’t let it slip by.
Pack at least 3 wraps to liven or change the look of your ensemble in a cinch.
Since I am a water baby, I pack three suits and corresponding cover ups. When you are headed to beach, boat or pool, throw in an extra tunic or pareo for apres swim and save your main coverup when returning to shore. Melissa Odabash, launched in 1999, was inspired by Melissa working as a model in Italy, often modelling swimwear and wanting to create something that she herself would wear. Shortly after its launch, British Vogue named Melissa Odabash, ‘the Ferrari’s of the bikini world’ making it clear that the brand had a strong, luxury position in the swimwear market. Melissa designs are made of impeccable fabrics and tailoring and are well worth the price.
