Year after year, the Director’s Council of the Musuem of the City New York Winter Ball is one of the chicest soirees in town and this year’s fete is sponsored by the design legend Giorgio Armani. The evening will be anything but frosty as the fashionable set breeze into the Plaza Hotel for an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing. The Chairmen, Mark Gilbertson, Phoebe Gubelmann, Celerie Kemble, Nicole Mellon, Calvert Moore, Heather Mnuchin, Allison Rockefeller, Shafi Roepers, Andrew Roosevelt and Burwell Schorr are creating one of the most glittering parties of the winter season in support of MCNY’s exhibitions and programs that offer important and intriguing perspectives on the people, places, and issues that define New York. The Museum of the City of New York celebrates and interprets the city, educating the public about its distinctive character, especially its heritage of diversity, opportunity, and perpetual transformation. Founded in 1923 as a private, nonprofit corporation, the Museum connects the past, present, and future of New York City.
