The President of the United States requests your presence . . . our young friend and Washington D.C. Guest of a Guest Managing Editor, Sophie Pyle, is gearing up for a much anticipated Weekend in Washington. This weekend is the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, which means a bevy of beauties, celebs, and media moguls will descend upon our nation’s capital to attend the dinner and its dozens of before, after, and after-after parties. This year the WHCA’s Annual Dinner on Saturday, April 27th, hosted by Conan O’Brien, and it is traditionally attended by the President and First Lady, senior government officials, and members of the Press Corps. Proceeds from the dinner go toward WHCA Scholarships and awards aimed at supporting aspiring journalists and recognizing excellence in the profession.
According to Sophie, “There are about 10 Business-Cocktail events on Thursday and Friday, then sundresses for the 3 to 4 brunches on Saturday morning, then formal dress for the dinner on Saturday night.” For what to wear this wild and wonderful weekend in the nation’s capital, we went straight to Saks Fifth Avenue for a trio of Yankee Doodle Dandy looks to take you from cocktail parties, to brunches to the Black Tie Dinner.
