The President of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Alexander Van der Bellen, Denise Rich, Elisabeth Muhr, and Jean Shafiroff invite you to the 65th Viennese Opera Ball on Friday, February 7, 2020. This spectacular celebration originated with traditions that could only come from the oldest Royal houses in Austria and Europe. Just like in Europe, when the clock strikes midnight, a Quadrille enlivens the dance floor until 4am. The Viennese Opera Ball is considered the most prestigious and oldest Viennese ball outside of Vienna. This year proceeds will benefit the music therapy program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with support from Denise Rich’s Gabrielle‘s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research.
When the attire reads “White Tie” only the most glamorous ensemble will do. Inspired by the regal air of the evening we discovered two fabulous ball gowns at Bergdorf Goodman, resplendent in royal blue and stately gold. Your Cinderella style will be turning heads as the festivities continue long past the bewitching hour of midnight.
This White Tie Charity Ball celebrates the cultural and economic relationships between Austria and America; connecting two continents, two cities and two centuries in one glamorous evening. Commencing with the debuting of Debutantes in elaborate gowns dancing the Polonaise and Alles Walzer, followed by an opulent array of opera stars, and spectacular dancing far into the night.
While shopping we found a treasure trove of midnight blue fancy frocks.
Watch a delightful video of this elegant evening.
