The most anticipated cultural phenomenon of spring, The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival is upon us, running April 17 through the 28. Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff founded The Festival in 2001 following the attacks on the World Trade Center to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of downtown Manhattan through an annual celebration of film, music and culture. Through their foresight, they have created an enriching event for the entire city. This year’s program is curated from more than 2870 submissions and includes films from 19 countries. There are documentaries on everything from the cute cat Lil Bub to Richard Pryor and Clint Eastwood, as well as narrative features starring the likes of Naomi Watts, Paul Rudd, Jean Dujardin, and more.
The kick is April 17 with the world premiere of “Mistaken for Strangers,” a documentary about indie rock band The National. See trailer below. For what to wear to such a hip, happening event, we took ourselves to NET-A-PORTER, to find a perfect combination of uptown chic with a downtown vibe. The Missoni Knit Crocheted Jumpsuit, Michael Kors Quilted Leather Jacket, the stunning MK Studded Sandals and the Newbark Suede and Lace Clutch create an ensemble rich with pattern and texture for maximum screen appeal.
