Karen Klopp, Pam Taylor in Tangier

2eIn July, I had the opportunity to spend the most divine Weekend in Tangier and in preparation, I found some essentials for the trip. I shopped our affiliates online and on our Amazon Storefront to discover some replacements and some fab new items.

Of course, I packed an Eric Javits Packable Hat in my luggage, which was invaluable.

But I also wanted to bring another chapeau that is my fave for warm climates but does not bounce back into shape. These hat clips did the trick – I bought two which made the attachment more stable and happily went on my way.

Another essential for hot weather travel, when the day’s activities bump up to the evening plans,  I find this clip-on ponytail the ideal solution. They have tons of shades. Just clip it on, and secure it with two long pins.  I have tried many through the years and I found this brand to be very good at staying in place.

Sleek or wavy? You choose, or take both, they are so convenient.

A Magnifiying Mirror = especially when you are staying at a Guest Houses, rather than hotels, is an excellent lighted magnifying mirror. This one as incredibly useful.

Or if you prefer, this one is battery operated and a also very bright.

I have never brought a steamer on a holiday before and I won’t do it again because I never used it. But I love having this handy plug-in for everyday use. Works like a charm.

As trendy travelistas well know, comfortable footwear is of the utmost importance when traveling and for many it translates into a beloved pair of sneakers. But for me, I prefer a different travel shoe. And as much as I adore my JC’s & MB’s, I have discovered a few pairs that are heaven on your feet. Naturalizer has been around for ions and still make the most comfortable foot wear. (For reference, visit The Three Shoe Rule.)

These I wore to beach, boat & pool. Lovely with swim suits and long caftans. They feel like bedroom slippers.

Never get on a plane with out a pashmina or wrap to keep you cozy. i usually tuck a neutral on in my tote bag.

And pack a vibrant one to enhance an all white palette.

I wanted to take a camera on this trip, rather then use my phone to focus more on the photography, but it arrived a day late. I am going to take it on my next adventure. Love the size.

An extra pair of sunglasses is always a good idea. These RayBans come in about 20 finishes and are well priced.

Yes, there will be delays and inconveniences – always pack a book like this riveting one about Salvatore Dali’s wife, Gala, the mother of Surrealism.

Surrealism, Michele Gerber Klein
