Ah, it’s that time of year again when a would-be golfer girl’s fancy turns to the greens. Is there a more evocative golf event than the history-laden Masters Tournament at Augusta National, a veritable cathedral to the sport. And yes, I continue to flail about in this support hoping to find my groove this season. But at least I am well dressed for it in layers with a bit of stretch for a great fit while swinging. For tops, I like to layer breathable knits like J. McLaughlin’s Catalina Fabric, to look fresh after hours on the fairway. I tend to go either sleeveless or 3/4 sleeve to minimize the tan lines from a short sleeved shirt. On the bottom, I like long shorts or skirt when it is warm, fitted cropped slacks for chillier playing. Depending on the weather, add a half zip light wool sweater, or synthetic. Top it off with a thin down or quilted vest. If I need more clothing – it is probably too cold to play!
