social primer

If anyone knows how to make a sartorial splash, it is our dashing designer pal, K. Cooper Ray of Social PrimerOn the heels of five successful seasons designing the Social Primer for Brooks Brothers Collection, Ray is debuting SP Smoking, a line of tuxedo separates and accessories that is an ode to the city of Charleston and the social swirl that surrounds its winter formal season.  Ray’s first foray into menswear includes black tie separates and accessories that are inspired by Charleston and made in New York.  Each garment can be worn all four seasons – they are impeccably tailored and crafted from fabrics that wear beautifully dancing the shag in summer or foxtrot in the fall.

Did someone say “Shag”?  Yes, Cooper’s presentation captures a 1959 Country Club vibe replete with a Carolina Shag Band begs and this sensational soirée begs the question, what to wear?  We sashayed to SAKS.com for this classically feminine pair of frocks that are sooooo Mad Men and just meant for dancing the night away.  And both would be just the thing for a spring wedding or cocktail party.  Don’t know how to shag?  Just watch the video below.
