One of our fortunate, seaworthy friends wrote in to say; “I have a holiday coming up that I have no idea how to shop for let alone pack for! I will be leaving on the 29th of August for the J Class sailing Yacht races in Sardinia, Italy. Our first advice is to come onboard to our Packing Lists and print the ones that apply to your destination. Costa Smeralda is one of the chicest destinations in the Mediterranean, add to the mix the salty dogs who race J Class and you have yourself one fantastic experience. In general, we love J. By day on shore shopping and yacht watching, wear a summer dress, sandals, hat, sunglasses and carry a tote to fit all of your finds. When spectating on the sea, stick to a great pair of shorts and shirt, boat shoes or rubber sandals, hat, and again your trusty tote for sunscreen, waterproof jacket and the like. You may want to take a Sea to Summit Waterproof Bag to tuck inside your tote for your camera and cell phone. Ah, nights in the harbor are made for white jeans, fab tunic tops, espadrilles, a little clutch and a lot of attitude.
