If there is one organization who has made an impact on the children of  New York City it is Randall’s Island Sports Foundation.  Join thier Fielding Dreams NYC Gala on Thursday, March 15th for an entertaining evening of Cocktails, Dinner and Program.   The event is being held at Skylight Soho and honorees include Pamela Liebman, President & CEO of The Corcoran Group and Mark Sanchez, Quarterback for the New York Jets. Randall’s Island Sports Foundation, Inc. Anyone that has a child involved in sports in New York City, will have witnessed the incredible transformation of a dust-filled  and trash-strewn island into the most fantastic and up-to-date sports facility that serves all of New York’s children.   Our hats-off to our friend and Founder, Karen Cohen and her fellow Board Members, including Tori Dauphinot, Bimla Picot and Richard Davis, along with Aimee Boden and Pinky Keehner, who have enthusiastically lead the charge for over 2 decades.

With the 6:00pm start, most attendees will be arriving from work, so we went shopping at Net-a-Porter for this delightful assortment of cocktail dresses in a bright shade of blue.  Each of these three beauties can go from office to night time with the addition of some well chosen,  dressed-up accessories.

See the dramatic results – our children used to play on rubble strewn fields!

Since 1992, RISF has sponsored free youth programs at Randall’s Island Park, giving thousands of children the opportunity to go outside and play.  (RISF) is a nonprofit organization that, in conjunction with City leadership, works to realize the island’s unique potential by developing sports and recreational facilities, restoring its vast natural environment, reclaiming and maintaining parkland, and sponsoring programs for the children of New York City.  Today RISF continues to work toward developing and maintaining Randall’s Island Park, and sponsoring community-linked programs for children so that all New Yorkers have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors without leaving the City.
