I have a passion for purple this week! It is the official color of the Alzheimer’s cause, which I have been involved with for many years now. I am on the Steering Committee of the Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala which was started by the amazing Princess Yasmin Aga Khan. This year is especially exciting because Naeem Khan has designed a special purple dress in honor of the Gala. The gorgeous dress will be auctioned at the party on October 27th. Naeem has always been a big supporter in the fight against Alzheimer’s and hopes his creation will raise awareness and funds to put an end to the terrible disease. My committee has also been given the opportunity to ring the closing NASDAQ bell this coming friday at 4pm. This gives us the chance to bring global attention to our resolve to put an end to Alzheimer’s. AND we are asked to wear Purple! With that in mind I shopped at Net-a-Porter for some purple pieces to add flare to my wardrobe. It could be as simple as sexy lingerie and the beautiful ring by Alice Cicolini, or as flamboyant as the lame dress by Christopher Kane and embellished satin sandals by Sophie Webster. We will have to see where this purple passion pops up!
