I am off next week to London for my God Daughter’s Graduation, from Westminster School. I am really looking forward to the get-away. I have never been to Wimbledon and it is high on my list, so I am hoping to snag some seats. The challenge in packing for London is to bring everything I need for casual walking and tubing all over town, appropriate attire for the very traditional tennis matches – will wear white – and festive fashion for evening celebrations.
First, I checked the weather. It looks ideal but will still travel with trench and folding umbrella.
Next I decided on a color scheme, black and white and a dusty pink. It makes it so easy to mix and match, especially with shoes and bags. Since London is a cosmopolitan capital, like NYC, I am trending to a darker palette than if I were traveling to a resort. Then I go to work on my packing list. If you read Packing for Travel, you know my technique of making a list of all the events and what you will be wearing. Make sure to wear things at least twice.
