Top o’ the morning to you! The celebration of St. Patrick’s Day has become an integral ingredient of the March Madness we have come to treasure. Wherever you roam March 17, the day of the Saint’s passing, is celebrated with great fanfare. What began as a religious event for the legend who is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland has evolved (devolved?) into a day of rambunctious parades, a profusion of green on land and sea and an open invitation to party in the streets all over the world – our fair city hosts the largest and best.
Never ones to let a sartorial opportunity slip by, Hilary and I delighted to present the definitive “What to Wear St. Patrick’s Day. Saks.com had a delightful collection of fresh greens that compliment the warmer climes of Florida this season. The Samantha Sung Shirtdress is just the thing for a gal’s lunch. The Le Vie Style lace caftan is stunning for day to night style. Ditto the ruffled Saloni so feminine and flattering. Wear the embellished jacket with slim fitting white or black pants for a twist on the classic.

From NET-A-Porter, we created a sleek & sophisticated collection from parade to party! The symbolism of the grassy shade runs the gamut of emotions from greed and envy to peace and tranquility, we choose to interpret as a lucky color that signals vibrancy and festivity!
Growing up in New York City, Hilary is a fan of the auspicious day. “I love Saint Patrick’s Day in New York City. It is such fun to watch the parade on Fifth Avenue and see all of the proud Irish in their green finery, shamrocks and all. It is a joyous day here in the city. I am not a big fan of wearing green, as a blonde it tends to make my hair read green .. a la my nickname Celery as a child, when my hair turned green in the Summer from spending so much time in the pool. But that said I do wear it on Saint Patty’s Day and particularly like these shades. Mixed with cream and black the dresses below are chic, versatile and can be worn for any occasion.”
Ironically, the last time we wrote about this fine day was in 2020 in seclusion. How long ago that feels and how happy we are to be back together to celebrate.
May neighbors respect you, trouble neglect you, the angels protect you, and Heaven accept you!
