Get ready to FA LA LA while strolling Madison Avenue on Saturday, December 1st, as the 32nd Miracle on Madison Avenue takes place to benefit the pediatric programs of The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. What could be a more meaningful way to source the perfect gifts for all of the lads and lassies on your list, while donating to the care and treatment of children suffering with cancer.
Hilary and I were treated to a sneak preview with The Society of MSKCC President Jamie Gregory, trailing along Madison Avenue perusing gifts for others, and maybe a few for ourselves. As we entered the Ralph Lauren Flagship we were captivated by the sights, sounds and scents that greeted us. It is a sensory immersion into the holiday season. If you need a little prompting, trust me, just a few seconds in that environment will have you belting out the carols and tapping your toes. Just look what it did to Hilary!
Welcome to Miracle on Madison!!
Jamee made a beary cute friend
The windows are divine
For the horsey set
Next stop, Paul Morelli, a jewel box boutique glistening with diamonds and stones, where our merry outing continued with some sparkling try-ons.
Dear Santa . . . .
From there we hoofed it down to Giuseppe Zanotti, for a frolic in the footwear department. GZ is known for his adoration of the feminine form.
Animal magnetism
Seriously, sartorially sexy
The colorful Jamee went for the Rainbow Sneakers to wear on Saturday as she dashes to and fro . . .
. . . while Hilary sets her sights on New Years Eve.
The vibe was pure energy at Kate Spade where we were amazed with their extensive selection for all of the gals on your list, from niece to nana.
Great vibe!
KK picked a Hostess Skirt
Did someone say Millennial Pink?
Groovy baby!
Rich jewel tones
.
Iridescent holiday palette
Cleverly curated boxes
We ended our mad dash at Fred’s where we were dazzled and delighted by the sheer brilliance of their storied pieces. Grand Royalty from Europe to Hollywood have revelled in these priceless luxuries.
After our whirlwind tour, shopping our favorite gifts was a breeze – brrrr! Hilary’s picks as always are right on cue. “I shopped the Avenue looking for fun items from a variety of the stores participating. I couldn’t miss Rebecca Taylor where I always find beautiful timeless dresses like this one. And of course Veronica Beard is a must for any lady on your list. Johnny Was is new to Madison Avenue and the Miracle, it is worth a peak at their boho pieces for the gypsy in your life. Chocolates from La Maison du Chocolate are always a treat and a new Smythson diary can’t be beat. There is something for everyone to be found as you stroll and shop for MSK.”
I decided to go for those gifts that I would want to receive myself – yes, a hint! As a practical person I chose items that my friends and family can actually use. I love to gift sunglasses – who couldn’t enjoy an extra pair, or Wolford sexy tattoo stockings – these I will bring as gifts to my hostesses of holiday luncheons and get the howling going! Always in the lead, Hilary introduced me to Johnny Was and I found a tote that can go from boho to barth’s. Who knew that the iconic Parisian brand, Bonpoint created such whimsical accessories like the cat-eared headband for all of the princesses in your life. And must go to Madewell, for the pink furry eye mask and a crazy good selection of stocking stuffers. Hats off to Ralph Lauren as he celebrates fifty fabulous years, the book is a tribute and a special remembrance of the uniquely American Brand.
