The beloved Newport Jazz Festival Presented by Natixis Global Asset Management kicks off this Friday, August 3 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino. Doors open at 6pm, and the much-anticipated concert begins at 8pm with Dr. John & the Lower 911 featuring John Cleary, followed by Preservation Hall Jazz Band and including special guests Catherine Russell and Jonathan Batiste. Then concert-goers will swing over to the main event on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-7pm at Fort Adams, one of the Rhode Island park system’s national treasures, stunningly situated at the mouth of Newport Harbor with breathtaking panoramic views of the Newport Bridge and the East Passage.
