What to wear New York City Ballet Fall Gala

On Thursday, September 20th, New York City Ballet is celebrating the beginning of its 2012-2013 season with an extraordinary evening of dance and merriment, featuring costumes by the legendary Valentino, and a program that will include the world premiere of New Martins, the New York premiere of New Wheeldon Pas de Deux, and rarely-seen works from the repertory, such as Not My Girl with music by Fred Astaire and Van Philips, and Sophisticated Lady . The evening will begin in graceful adagio at 7:00pm at David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, and is co-chaired by Board Members Sarah Jessica Parker, Maria Bartiromo, Pamela J. Joyner, and Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino’s long-time business partner. Prior to the performance, guests will brisé and deboulé at an elegant cocktail reception, and at the conclusion of the performance, the evening will continue with an  black tie Supper Ball for over 800 guests and dancing with New York City Ballet Company members until midnight. For more information about the Fall Gala, please contact the NYCB Special Events Office at 212.870.5585.

For what to wear to this evening of elegance celebrating Valentino, we of course took great delight in choosing a look that is head-to-toe, Valentino! This stunning signature scarlet,  Silk-Cady Gown is simply sumptuous, allowing plenty of movement for your best pliés, pirouettes, and arabesques.  The pumps, too, provide fantastic height and style in lace.   The accessories, the  Bow-detailed Satin Clutch, Fabulously  Jeweled  Leather Gloves, and Crystal Earrings all deserve a curtain call as this elegant ensemble will bring down the house.
