Fashion’s Back at the Ballet is the timely theme of this year’s highly anticipated New York City Ballet Fall Gala. The festivities will begin with a champagne reception, followed by a exciting performance, and then the attendees will attend a stylish black-tie supper ball on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater, in the company of the dancers. This year’s charming Chairmen, Cindy Chao, Marianne Lake, Jennifer and Trey Laird, and Sarah Jessica Parker are on their toes creating an evening of dance and delight. For what to wear for such a fashion forward affair, we were inspired by the invitation’s design, and the deep, rich shade of purple. When we went shopping, we found two fabulous ways to go. The ML Monique Lhuillier’s stunning ball gown will create a grand entrance at any gala event, and we kept the accompanyments classic. For a more contemporary take, Mary Katrantzou provided us with an impeccably patterned column gown which we accessorized with fashion flair.
