On January 17, 2013 at the Plaza Hotel, the National Audubon Society Gala Dinner will be the venue for the presentation of two prestigious awards: the Society’s highest award, The Audubon Medal, will be given to Louis Moore Bacon, and the inaugural Dan W. Lufkin Prize for Environmental Leadership will be presented to George Archibald. These awards signify the highest caliber of recognition the environmental community can bestow, and these recipients are the most deserving.
Event Chairs Gabrielle Bacon, Zack Bacon, Fiona & Stanley Druckenmiller, Sonia & Paul Tudor Jones III, Elaine & Ken Langone, and Cynthia & Dan W. Lufkin, with Co-Chairs including Maria Cuomo Cole & Kenneth Cole, Allison Rockefeller, Rhett Turner, and Beau Turner have truly outdone themselves this year. The event will be hosted by Tom Brokaw, and will include a special performance by Bette Midler. To purchase tickets, go to Audubon.org, and for more information, please contact John Hannan at [email protected], or call him at 212-979-3062.
“Festive Dress” can be interpreted a number of ways. When an invitation says “Festive” and it is held during the week, with guests arriving right from work, we tend to go a little understated. This exquisite Tory Burch metallic sheath is just perfect. As the cut is so ladylike and demure, we would take up the length to show a teensy bit more leg. And keep in mind when you are going to a Gala and Awards, you will be seated at the table for most of the evening so it is important that the top of the dress has a lovely neckline or interesting bodice, like this one. Be playful with the accessories. This is going to be an environmentally elegant event to remember.
