what to wear charity luncheon

This is a do not miss event for design professionals, enthusiast and devotees.  It is always a fascinating program of creativity and inspiration.    On Thursday, June 1, 2017, the Museum of the City of New York will present its City of Design Award to renowned New York architect Peter Marino at its annual Spring Symposium & Luncheon.   Mr. Marino will speak at the Symposium on his work and creative process, outlining a remarkable career creating elegant private residences and iconic commercial spaces.  The City of Design Award recognizes those who have made New York the design capital of the world and who inspire future generations of designers to bring their talents to our great city.    For tickets and information, go to MCNY Spring Symposium & Luncheon.

True confessions, I have a huge crush on Peter Marino both for his body of work and his well-toned  body’s “bad boy” look.   So in thinking of what to wear to this luncheon, suddenly nothing in my closet would do.   Luckily I am a member of Couture Collective, Sallie Giordano’s luxury designer club service and I turned to their closet to find a little something fabulous and affordable..    Fendi, Gucci, McQueen!  Now  we are talking Marino-worthy designs.  Pairing was easy at NET-A-PORTER, finding the perfect bright patent shoes, chic “Lady Bags” and suitable shades to fit the occasion.
