Honoring leading art world innovators, the Independent Curators International (ICI)’s Annual Benefit & Auction will rock The Prince George Ballroom on Monday, November 19, beginning at 6:30pm, with an intimate Honorees Cocktail Hour, followed by Benefit and Auction. During the special Honorees Hour, Agnes Gund will present the 2012 Leo Award to Dasha Zhukova, and Hans Ulrich Obrist will present the 2nd ICI Independent Vision Curatorial Award to Nav Haq and Jay Sanders. This year, in recognition of the devastation experienced by so many of ICI’s fellow arts organizations in NYC, a portion of all the Benefit proceeds will go to the new ADAA Relief Fund. Presented by Glenmede, Co-Chaired by Sydie Lansing, Ann Schaffer, and Ann Cook, designed and produced by Fête, and catered by New York’s favorite Sonnier & Castle, the ICI Annual Benefit & Auction will be an arty party you won’t want to miss! Silent and Live Auction items include artwork by Jonas Wood, Sam Moyer, Brendan Fowler, Ellen Phelan, KAWS, Ian Davis, Shannon Finley, Nick Goss, and Ellen Gronemeyer, to name just a few, as well as trips to St. Bart’s and Newport, R.I., and many other wonderful items to bid on. For what to wear to this chic art benefit amongst the collectors and aficionados, we were inspired by the clean black and white lines of the invitation and perused the collection at Bergdorf Goodman to find looks to impress even the most discerning of art crowds. We love the chic simplicity of black and white colorblocking, and add a pop of color in your shoes or bag for a fun and unexpected twist. If you’re average height or less, we recommend having the dresses hemmed to slightly above the knee for a more flattering cut.
