The International Guggenheim Gala takes place on Monday, November 8, at the Soloman R. Guggenheim Museum and will be honoring artists Ellsworth Kelly and Julie Mehretu.  The event entails an enchanting evening complete with cocktails, dinner by Olivier Cheng, a live auction by Oliver Barker from Sotheby’s and is followed by an after party dancing to DJ Mike Fellows‘ beats.  The celebration calls for Festive Attire and none is celebretory for such an occascion as patron of the arts Amy Phelan.  We found inspiration for Amy’s outfit from the hues emulated in some of the contemporary pieces that are included in the Gala’s auction such as a custom made Will Cotton confectionary dreamscaped “Commissioned Portrait”, to Rob Pruitt’s panda glitter-piece entitled “Heyyl (Angel of Wild Animals)” and Marilyn Minter’s glossy choronogenic print, “Liquid Sky”.  It is through Amy’s dedication that such funds keep the Guggenheim’s progressive exhibitions, acquisations and educational programs evolving.  For further information please visit the Guggenheim Foundation’s website.
