Each year FIT and The Fashion Institute of Technology Foundation sponsor a Black Tie Gala that draws together leaders and luminaries from the worlds of business, fashion, music, design, art, and culture in support of FIT. On June 9th at 6:30pm, FIT and the FIT Foundation will be honoring Dr. Jay Baker, trustee and foundation chairman Linda Fargo, of Bergdorfs and Joan Hornig, jewelry designer, philanthropist and Trustee. Joan is a great friend, whose line of jewelry, Philanthropy is Beautiful donates profit to the charity of you choice. One of New York City’s most important fashion business events “One Person, One Company, One College” consistently raises more than a million dollars to help the college. It pays tribute to one outstanding professional leader each year. For tickets and for information, please call 212.217.4105 or email [email protected].
For what to wear to a Black Tie event, we consulted iconic designer and FIT grad, Nicole Miller to find two fabulous choices for the gala, reflective of the Spring line’s inspiration: the French Revolution. To compliment the femininity of the dresses, we chose a few choice pieces form the Joan Hornig Jewelry Boutique, slipped into a pair of Manolo Blahnik Evening Sandals and grabbed our Kotur Minaudiére, creating a truly fashionable sensation.
