On Sunday, August 25th the East Coast Open Polo Tournement kicks off at the Greenwich Polo Club. This year is especially exciting for us, as our very own Smithfield Farms is mounting a team to contend in this highly competitive and prestigious tournament. If you have never attended, this is the time – what could be better than an afternoon of exciting match play in the idyllic setting of the iconic polo club, nestled in the back country of Greenwich.
Greenwich Polo Club established in 1981, is recognized as one of the elite high-goal polo venues in the world. attracts some of the most skillful players and pros from the U.S. and Argentina to provide an afternoon of non-stop action. Each match showcases eight players galloping on horseback across a 300-yard field at speeds of up to 35MPH.
Thousands of spectators turn up, all turned out, for the Sunday spectacle where you can reserve a cabana, a seat in the stands or a spot on the sidelines to cheer on your high-goal team.
For what to wear to such an exhilarating event, we did a little shopping for an ideal ensemble.
