It is interesting how quickly dressing changes in the city once Labor Day is past, with NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, right on its heels. Even if we have the pleasure of an Indian Summer, we put away our cottons and lines and look forward to some “serious dressing.” I love to interpret the trends in my own “practical fashion” way. I don’t have unlimited resources, so I try to stretch my fashion dollars and put them to use in update classic way. Here are some of the things on my wish list for fall fashion.
We are working on an article for New York Social Diary on the Couture Council at FIT Awards Luncheon honoring Thom Browne so I am eyeing one of these bags.
Trend: White Bags
This is my look for everyday to the office and about. While I haven’t gone full fringe, I am going with these raw hem jeans and saved the fringe for these J.Crew jackets, I chose a strong Thom Browne bag and in love with the velvet trend in shoes.
Trends: Menswear Inspired, Power Purse, White Shoes, Velvet, Denim
I put this look together for day when I am on the run from morning ’til night. Just swap out the wedges or boot for pumps and add a pair of statement earrings and a shiny clutch. I find Veronica Beard’s jackets are tops in flattering fit and style. The pants are new from J.Crew and are super fabulous for fit and style. Reds in every shade are a huge trend and I prefer this rich burgundy jewel tone for fall.
TRENDS: Power Dressing, Red, Velvet, Metallics
