On Friday, August 3, the Newport Polo Club will celebrate Winston Churchill‘s famous words, “A polo handicap is a passport to the world.” The 12th Annual International Polo Charity Ball, Braveheart Ball will commence at 7pm at Rosecliff, one of Newport’s famed Bellevue Avenue mansions. This lovely tartan affair will celebrate guests of honor the Scottish Polo Team, as well as all things noble and Scottish, especially the bravery of Scottish hero William Wallace, a commoner that united the 13th Century Scots in their battle to overthrow English rule. The evening begins with a reception on the terrace, where guests can indulge in cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, while overlooking the breathtaking gardens and water views, then dine and dance the night away.
