Huge thanks to the McLaughlins, Jay, Joan, Kevin and Barbara, and great pal, Jack Lynch for the spectacular party to reopen their Lexington Avenue Boutique and announce the launch of our new book, Packing for Travel. Hilary Dick was instrumental for getting Alzheimers Association on board as the beneficiary, creating a stylish soiree. 15% of the proceeds from sales were donated. And the brilliant illustrator, Lara Glaister, brought in the young crowd. The shop buzzed with excitement as people discovered J Mclaughlin’s new chic, updated looks and since the men’s and women’s stores have been combined, there was something for everyone. The good news is that although the book sold out, we will be restocking, and you can also buy it on our site. It makes a great holiday gift, either on its own or with a cosy wrap.
For what to wear to a Book Launch at J. McLaughlin? It was difficult for Hilary and I to pick our favorites. Hilary chose the Ava Dress, whipped up in wool cashmere and accented with edgy vegan leather stripes. It fit her perfectly and looked amazing. It also comes in a gorgeous turquoise with black piping – another big hit with the ladies.
For me, I went straight to this Mia Dress in Chevalier, a feel good, look great in-an-instant kind of dress. The wrinkle-free Catalina Cloth™ is enhanced by soft front draping and a striking print. It fits in perfectly for my color scheme this winter, of cream, camel, black and gold as I travel back and for to Florida. PS: Catalina Cloth is 25% off right now.
As life is always on the go, I picked a few other items to have in my wardrobe, ready to hop on a plane at a moment’s notice.
Black Leggings $165 / Cashmere Scarf $ 335 / Brewster Large Tote $365 / Milani Sweater Dress $225 / Canyon Cardigan $185 / Sevilla Clutch $180 / Cashmere Poncho $218
