The 33rd Annual Rita Hayworth Gala, chaired by Princess Yasmin Aga Khan & Karyn Kornfeld, will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York. The Gala will honor Bill Brand, President of HSN, with the Rita Hayworth Award, and Brendan Shanahan, President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, with the Champion Award. For information and tickets, please go to Alzheimer’s Association.
This Ultra-Glam Gala deserves an elegant ensemble of sophisticated style. We shopped Bergdorf Goodman to find the best in fall’s ball-worthy gowns. Intense purple, symbolic of the mystery and hope of this devastating disease, is a rich and brilliant shade to wear right now, into the upcoming Holiday Season, and beyond. Monique Lhuillier and Theia’s interpretation of glamour is reminiscent of Old Hollywood at its best. Each is a stunning statement of grace and style. To accessorize we chose a golden pairing – statement earrings, stylish clutch and fabulous scrappy sandals. Now, you are ready for your close-up!
Monique Lhuillier Mikado Gown $895 / Theia Satin Contour Gown $995 / Jose & Maria Barrera Crystal Pendant Earrings $440 / Eddie Parker Confetti Clutch / Oscar de la Renta Crystal Teardrop Earrings $390 / Jimmy Choo Mille Moire Clutch $825 /
Princess Yasmin Aga Khan began this event in honor of her mother, actress Rita Hayworth, who died as a result of Alzheimer’s. Under Princess Yasmin Aga Khan’s leadership, the 2015 event raised over $2.2 million, and a grand total of over $69 million has been raised through the Rita Hayworth Galas. These funds, combined with other donations, have helped the Alzheimer’s Association make significant progress toward our mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease.
