As far as I am concerned, the only good thing about the end of the summer is the start of the US Open Tennis. It is an event of epic proportions but one that makes our vast metropolis feel like a small town. It is a blast to walk around the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, home of the US OPEN (thank you Mayor David Dinkins) mingling with fellow fans and looking out for the current and past greats. Once seated the the stadium, the world disappears – your focus goes to the court, two figures, one ball and the drama begins. I like to go to the night sessions, and often to the Opening Night’s Session. Devotees are attired in every sort of fashion but for me a comfy dress and low heeled shoes seems just right. Bring a small shoulder bag that is easy to carry. I love these new J.McLaughlin dresses in great transitional patterns. The ruffled neck of the Durham Dress is new and flattering, with just a bit of framing around the neck and face. I will probably be going right from work so these looks can transition from day to night. I chose fall trending accessories, pop of red, small bags, logos, and kitten heels to complete the chic look. Loving the new Gucci Bamboo Heeled shoes!
