I am thrilled to be among the honorees of this year’s Help USA, Luncheon at the Plaza Hotel. I have been a fan and supporter of this organization since I met Maria Cuomo Cole many years ago after the publication of an early book, How to Save the Children. The organization was created by her brother, Governor Andrew Cuomo, to help the homeless, and as he was tapped to run the and off to Washington, DC, Maria took over the reins. The rest is history. In 20 years, the scope and support has grown into a vital organization that is a national leader in both homeless prevention and a developer of permanent supportive housing for special needs population such as homeless families, veterans, and survivors of domestic violence.
For what to wear to a luncheon in March, we decided on a neutral palette that will smoothly transition into the upcoming spring season. Fellow HELP USA supporter, Joan Hornig creates a divine jewelry line, Philanthropy is Beautiful, and donates her profits to the charity of your choice.
