Big Ben and the London Olympics

Let the games begin!  Between the Queen’s Jubilee, Andy Murray in the finals at Wimbledon, and the upcoming Olympics,  there is no doubt that we are enjoying an exciting London Summer. On Friday, July 27, the London 2012 Summer Olympics kick off with the Opening Ceremony, directed by Academy Awardwinning director Danny Boyle.  With over 200 countries represented in 26 different sports and 302 medal events, the Olympic Games are truly the foremost sports competition in the world.  Our eyes will be glued to NBC-TV, the official network of the Olympics, on Friday night for the Opening Ceremony.  Ralph Lauren generously designed and donated the official Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony Parade outfits for the U.S. Team, so we found it only fitting that we create our own Olympic outfits from the iconic American designer’s U.S. Olympic Team Collection.  We shopped Ralph Lauren and put together this collection of Olympic garb inspired by the Games.

We acknowledge the controversy over Ralph Lauren having had the U.S. Olympic Team Opening and Closing Ceremony outfits made in China, but if you haven’t had a chance to read Bridget Foley’s article on the controversy in Women’s Wear Daily, we highly recommend it.
