golden globes

Shhhh!  Don’t tell the Oscar people, but we think the Golden Globes are really more fun – we think it has to do with the free flowing booze at the tables.  It is also about time – this event signals the start of Awards Season, with the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by hilarious SNL Alumnae Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, both nominated for Golden Globes this year themselves! LIVE from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA, we can’t wait to scope out what our favorite actresses are wearing on the red carpet this Sunday, January 13 from at 8pm on NBC.  The Presenters are a star-studded lineup of Kerry Washington, Nathan Fillion,  Jason Statham, Jennifer Lopez, Kristen Wiig, Jeremy Renner, Amanda Seyfried and Will Ferrell.  Actor, Director and Producer Jodie Foster will much-deservedly receive the Cecil B. de Mille Award for lifetime achievement, and all stars in attendance will feast on a gorgeous Three-Course Dinner crafted by Beverly Hilton Executive Chef Suki Sugiura and Executive Pastry Chef Thomas Henzi.  We wish all the Nominees good luck- 2012 appears to be quite the year of some very fabulous films!  Go to NBC.com/Golden-Globes to learn more.

We couldn’t resist putting together our dream looks for the Golden Globes. We took our inspiration from the stately Golden Globe Award statues and chose two looks in soft golden hues from SAKS.com. We love the old movie star glamour of the shimmering, artfully draped Notte by Marchesa grecian gold gown, and the more “seasoned starlets” like Helen Miren, Meryl Streep, and Judy Dench would be so flattered by the beautiful neckline and soft drape of the Beaded Silk Chiffon Gown, also Notte by Marchesa. It’s glitz and glam all the way for this red carpet occasion, so we chose shoes, bags, and earrings that shimmer and shine, capturing the spirit of elegance and excitement of the decadent-yet-lighthearted Golden Globe Awards Show.
