Fashion for Action

On November 7, Fashion for Action will bring together 250 brands for an evening to benefit Housing Works’ mission to make a difference for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS.  The Opening Night Reception at The Altman Building will mark the return of Thom Browne as Honorary Chair and Co-Chairs Dree Hemingway, Patricia Clarkson and Cat Greenleaf.  Shoppers will have access to over $1 million worth of merchandise from over 250 designers including Libertine, Marc Jacobs and DVF, all sold up to 70% off retail.  There will also be specialty shops by BCBG Max Azaria, Brooks Brothers and a Chanel vintage jewelry trunk show of curated pieces.  All proceeds from Fashion for Action will benefit Housing Works lifesaving programs such as job training, medical and legal care, transgender services and counseling for men, women and youth living with or affected by homelessness and HIV/AIDS.  A four-day public sale at Housing Works Chelsea Thrift Shop will follow from 5 – 9 pm on Thursday, November 8, and 10am to 6pm on November 9 – 11.  For more information or to purchase tickets, go to FashionForAction.org.
