HilaryLast summer, while visiting Nantucket, I had the pleasure of sitting next to Laurette Kittle at dinner. Charming and full of life, I liked her immediately and started following her on Instagram. I had no idea that she was the founder of Walker & Wade until I saw her pictures of gorgeous kaftans . . . or as she likes to call them “Goddess Kaftans.” We reconnected and I found out the history of her new line. Walker & Wade 1Laurette has two sons who are avid surfers and when they were little she found herself at the beach all day with no time to change for dinner. Still wanting to look nice for the evening, she found that the kaftan was the easiest piece to dress up for a night on the town. And thus her “Beach-to-Table” concept was born. She also feels that women of any age or size should feel like a goddess when dressed in her kaftans. She created her line with all this in mind and her pieces are flattering, sexy, and soft to the touch. They can be worn over a bathing suit, a slip, nude underwear, belted, or free flowing. Paired with her beaded necklaces and purse, and you are ready for anything summer has to offer.
