New Yorkers for Children

New Yorkers for Children is a wonderful charity we’re so proud to support that is lighting the way to brighter futures for young people in foster care in New York City with their annual fundraising event, the 13th Annual NYFC Fall Gala. On Tuesday, September 18th, guest will gather at Cipriani 42 for Cocktails  Dinner, a Live Auction by Jamie Niven of Sotheby’s, and a special musical performance. The 2012 Fall Gala Co-Chairs, Vanessa and Henry Cornell, Oscar de la Renta, Lise and Michael Evans, Susan and Tony Gilroy, Dayssi and Paul Kanavos, Kevin and Erika Liles, and Scott and Candice Posner, have put together a delightful evening where “youths who have benefitted from NYFC programs will act as hosts, sharing their stories during the evening’s program, presenting awards to Honorees Justin Tuck of the New York Giants and John Demsey of the Estée Lauder Companies, and introducing the annual Fall Gala film profiling one of their peers.” For more information, please contact Jennifer Houston at 212.867.1117 or [email protected].

For what to wear on this elegant black tie evening of lightness and whimsy, we shopped Bergdorf’s with the theme of “lighting the way” in mind, and found this illuminating Notte by Marchesa gown in radient white with the beautiful detail of the baroque cord belt, which is so on-trend right now.  To accessorize, we chose glimmering gold, from the Jimmy Choo Glitter Slingbacks, to the Tom Ford Minaudiere.    The Golden Chain-Tassel Earrings by Oscar de la Renta and the bejeweled Steven Dweck cuff add to the understated opulence of this baroque inspired ensemble.
