Suzanne Pollak, wife and mother of four adult children, including twins, is a co-author of two books, Entertaining for Dummies and The Pat Conroy Cookbook. She was a spokesperson for Federated Department Stores giving seminars on home decorating, entertaining, and cooking for many years.

Lee Manigault, mother of two school-age daughters, lives in one of the grand 18th-century Charleston homes and is a preeminent Charleston hostess.  She is an internationally educated cook, who can set a table with over 100 utensils and butcher a side of beef.

Thanks to Jack Lynch and Kevin McLaughlin for an visually simulating field trip to the stylish J. McLaughlin headquarters.  What are the chances that four women show up in Roger Vivier shoes?

Offering online education, private classes, and in-home consultations, the Charleston Academy of Domestic Pursuits assists individuals and families in creating a well-run household and encourages inspired, thoughtful living.

In a town filled with wickedly wise and witty women, these two domestic diva’s take the cake, icing and all. Deans Suzanne Pollak and Lee Manigault’s Charleston Academy of Domestic Pursuits  teaches classes in the most important subject in the world: the domestic arts.  The Academy’s unique curriculum includes everything from cocktail-party etiquette, to business entertaining, dealing with household guests, and cooking for the holidays. Here, after a little gentle instruction from Deans Pollak and Manigault, interspersed with plenty of humor, students find they are living healthier, having stronger ties to friends and family, and using their houses to branch out in ways they never dreamed possible. Since not everyone can get to their sold-out classes in Charleston, the Deans are now offering this book, available to order now through Amazon.comso happier living can be within everyone’s grasp, not just the select few.
